Random quote from Many Thoughts of Many Minds:

There are three sorts of actions: those that are good, those that are bad, and those that are doubtful; and we ought to be most cautious of those that are doubtful; for we are in most danger of these doubtful actions, because they do not alarm us; and yet they insensibly lead to greater transgressions, just as the shades of twilight gradually reconcile us to darkness.

Welcome to my website! (new)

This is an ASP.NET website. It consists of the following items:

  • Several concise lists of RSS feeds
  • My favorite websites

Links to various subjects, such as web development, English, cooking, and books.

  • Dao De Jing (道德經)

On this page, you can read the Dao De Jing written by Laozi. Both the original Chinese version and the English translation of each verse are shown side-by-side. This page uses the Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript + XML) technique to retrieve each chapter's content from the database without needing to refresh the entire page.

  • Treasury of Quotations

On this page, you can either get a randomly selected quotation or the entire collections of quotations stored on this website.

This page uses the Web service at jayorchid.com/webservices/TreasuryOfQuotations.asmx that can retrieve a quote randomly or the entire collection of quotes.

The quotes are from the book titled "Many Thoughts of Many Minds – A Treasury of Quotations from the Literature of Every Land and Every Age," edited by Louis Klopsch (available online at the gutenburg.org website.)

The randomly selected quotation at the top of this page comes from the above mentioned book.
